Rules for traveling to Spain

Based on current Spanish legislation, all tourists who wish to stay in accommodation in Spain are required to register. As a traveller, you must share more personal information with the authorities. Previously, a copy of your passport was sufficient. We no longer make a copy of your passport at the check-in unless we notice that you have not registred with us and the Spanish authorities. Youo are obliged to provide us with alle the names of guests staying in our apartment(s), as well as the date of birth and personal contact details. According to the Spanish law, you also have to provide personal informatie before your arrival to the Spanish authorities.

In connection with this, you will receive an email from us a few weeks before your arrival at Siroco-Gemelos 22 with a link to the form that you must complete.

PLEASE NOTE: you must complete the form per guest. So, for example, if you come with 4 people, you must register the information for all 4 people. Registration is only valid for children aged 14 and over and for adults. Children under 14 do not need to complete the registration.

When you click on the link you will receive from us, you will first come on the Spanish version of the website. Simply click on the languages ES in the right corner at the top and select English.

Make sure you select the right dates for your check-in and check-out before you fill in the form!

After you have filled in all the necessary information of alle the guests, you can send the information to the authorities. The Spanish authorities' system will then create a QR code for each traveler. You can download it by clicking "Descargar como PDF" or you can send it by email to the email address you provided. If you want to do this, click "Recibir por electrónico." If the email is sent successfully, you'll see a green check mark. You don't need to show the QR code anywhere. However, we recommend taking it with you on your trip. You can print it or download it to your phone or tablet.

We guarantee that we work in accordance with the guidelines as set by the Spanish government. The data is stored by the Spanish government in a secure system and is intended to identify potential risks and combat crime, such as money laundering or terrorism. The information is kept for up to five years, after which it is deleted.

As a traveller, you are legally obliged to cooperate with the procedure. If you have any questions about this, you can always contact us (info@gemelos22.es).

Background information

In October 2021, the Ministry of the Interior in Spain published new requirements regarding mandatory documentation of the information to be provided for tourist services. The Spanish government attaches great importance to this knowledge in order to have the best possible insight into who is entering and leaving the country. This is in the interest of general safety and to combat crime.

With the stricter rules, the government also wants to combat the black circuit in the tourism sector. Because payments and passports must be registered, people can keep a better feel for suspicious (financial) transactions and by sharing personal data, the government has a better view of which people are staying in the country.
